This helped me finish 4 spots in my home

Recently, while I was antiquing I saw this great trend pop up over and over.

I haven’t seen these in years and if I did spot one or two, they were always mismatched or unusable.

What is it?

Beautiful blue and white platters, and stunning Faience plates.

I’m sure you’re about to toss me an eye-roll but these stunning pieces have been hard to find for the last few years!

These decadent porcelain pieces come in pretty handy when decorating.

And their light floral, garden-inspired motifs are making a huge comeback.

What I loved about these, were the colors which were stunning and unusual and the patterns were unlike anything I’ve seen.

I’ve always been a fan of these florals as they are the perfect fillers for several areas of your home.

Of course, you have to use this style tastefully, or else it can quickly feel like great- great-grandma’s house!

Here are 3 of my favorite ways:

In a Kitchen Bookshelf

Many of us have these open bookshelves in our kitchen. In fact, this is what inspired my obsession with these pieces!

I have been on the hunt for something antique to fill this spot.

So I knew this was the one when I spotted it!

Upper Cabinets with Glass

Do you have glass cabinet doors on your upper cabinets?

Many homes, have these and if the doors contain glass, this is a wonderful spot to display what you are passionate about.

I love pieces like these colorful ceramics in those cabinets.

Because they are so high up, the colors and patterns get a little muted and softer so you can go bold.

Wall Display

Tried and true, you can’t go wrong with a classic collection of plates on the wall.

A few of my favorites include transferware for more pattern

Plain creamware if you prefer simple, clean lines

Or blue & white

What I loved most about stumbling upon these is they finally helped me finish several areas of my home!

I kept it simple and only used a few to keep it modern and fresh but still classic.

So what do you think?

Are you in love with beautiful plates and platters as much as I am?

Or would you rather keep it modern and avoid using these?

Leave a comment in the comments section and let us know!

And don’t forget, if you’re at all interested in this eclectic but classic style, head over to Village Antiques, where you can find this and plenty other unique and unexpected trends!

‘Till the next time we meet, keep making your home amazing with your design gifts.

Love,

Amitha
